Dude. Have I mentioned that Americans are fucked up? Some politician in West Palm Beach is actually spending MONEY AND ENERGY on a campaign to change the name of pommes frites from "French fries" to, of all things, "freedom fries". Jesus FUCKING Christ. I am so glad I'm an expat. I plan to continue being an expat even when I'm back in the States. I'll do like the '68 kids here and declare my room an independent state. They got pissed cause it was Place Saint Michel and the city wanted to own it. And I'll give my room back to Smith when I'm done with it.
Yes, I am lame. Don't mention it. But not as lame as American politicians. Is the American public so incredibly stupid that they actually care about pommes frites?
In other news, I took another tumble. Messed up my glasses. Messed up my knee. Fortunately did not mess up my skirt. Yay!
spent all weekend learning the basics about art history. now know what the hell it is I'm seeing here in europe.

Date: 2003-03-03 06:47 am (UTC)Realized the other day that I haven't been out of the country since We moved to Oregon, and my passport's expired so I couldn't even if I wanted too. Art history is much easier when you actually see the art. If you see Monet's self portrait, wave to him for me:-D
