Dammit, my characters are a fucking mess! Brent isn't even supposed to be a big part of the story, but now not only Stephen but also Cat are out for blood. Literally. Cat doesn't understand why Holly is ignoring the whole Brent issue at all, and Allison is the only one he'll listen to so she's the only thing holding him back from killing the guy. But that's totally not in character for Allison; she doesn't get it, either; she wanted Brent dead just as much and damn it why won't my minor characters stay minor characters???. Cat just made Holly cry so of course Carlos has to be pissed off at Cat, and why does Cat always have to come out the bad guy? I've made him into the stereotypical guy and I know there's more to him than that! And Claire.... why did I have to make Stephen fall in love with Claire? It's dooming him from the start.
Why can't my 2-dimensional characters just stay nice, simple two-dimensional characters?
