Today I unpacked three and a half boxes, and organized all my zines by category. Yes, it is true I have not yet unpacked my clothes and that I am living out of a suitcase. Zines are more fun to unpack.

I have one more scene to write in the Pros/Narnia crossover, and I spent four hours working on it last night only to discover this morning that most of it is unusable. Bugger.

[livejournal.com profile] ambyr and [livejournal.com profile] he_who_wanders took me to the Renn Fest on Saturday. It was cloudy and a little chilly so there was not the usual press of people, which made me happy but probably did not make the vendors happy. I had a lovely time, and I am pleased that I managed to not spend inordinate amounts of money this year.

Bad news: [livejournal.com profile] 8585_john is being deployed to Afghanistan. DNW. Not front lines, fortunately. [livejournal.com profile] girlonaroad is pretty calm about it, which I didn't expect but I think is great. She still wants to get pregnant before he leaves, at which I boggle, but to each their own.

Living with Sir Now Appearing In This LJ is disturbingly easy. He continues to be awesome, and I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. Then I hear my mother saying, "It's like he's treating you like an actual human being," so maybe I should stop waiting. It's not often my mother can speak to me, she being dead and all, so I figure I should listen when she does.

I did manage to accidentally explode a plastic plate in the oven today. He put it there, though, so I think it's his fault.

Today I caught up on the Not Pros Pros Watch, and watched two eps of Cluedo, two eps of Doctor in the House (omg fratboy!Martin Shaw), and the first two eps of The Cuckoo Waltz, which I now totally have to buy to see what happens next, except I don't have a Region 2 DVD player, so I have to buy that first. Which, well, not anytime soon, as money does not, apparently, grow on trees. Although the WPH did send me a check for seminar-center-babysitting -- unexpected but quite appreciated.

I start the Diet Cleanse From Hell at the end of the week. Unless it ends up I'm traveling to Boston next week, in which case I don't, because being at the Natural Foods Expo and unable to, you know, eat any food? Would suck.

And my cat rocks. Yay for kitties!

Finally, I have committed to doing my first weekend Alternatives to Violence Project workshop at a nearby prison. Today I got the list of "do"s and "don't"s. Apparently I am not allowed to wear an underwire bra. I am required to wear a bra, but it cannot be an underwire bra.

...I understand why, I'm just pissed that I have to go shopping so that I can go to prison. Also, my breasts will hurt the entire weekend. Bah.

I assume so. I just don't happen to own any sports bras as I only swim. But I guess I'll have to acquire one!

Are you out of the hospital/feeling better?

Sir Now Appearing *is* awesome. I continue to be impressed even after nearly eight years of knowing him.

Re the bra -- underwires could be removed and made into weapons or little tools very easily, whether made of metal or plastic. That's why. A good sports bra should work. Suggest checking out REI in College Park, since I think you're not quite as large as me; they should have something to fit you.

REI -- thank you! I wouldn't have thought of there.

Yeah, the rule makes sense. It just sucks in terms of I hate shopping!

I think the "other shoe" for Sir NA is that he doesn't clean, but I already knew that about him, so that's okay.

I once looked at a plate of pancakes and the plate exploded. D:

Yeah, my friends started referring to me as a psychic bull in a china shop. :D Actually the plate had been on the stove and then put on the cold table and it just burst. It only looked like telekinesis.

Depending on which DVD player you have, you might be able to make it region free. I don't think you can do it with Sony's, something about the chip, but you can with lots of other ones. Try Googling the make and model and region free and see if you get anything.

Ooooh, good idea! Thanks!

I shall ask Sir Now Appearing where he stashed the dvd player, and see if it's a Sony or not. Er, if he can remember where he put it. Which he might not.
