zana16Well, I am all moved in. Not a single box has yet been unpacked, but I am moved.
Sir Now Appearing has been really awesome all through the process of this move. The other day when I was stressing out, he asked me, "What do you need?"
"I need to go to the pet store and I need to buy sheets for my bed and I need to write you the rent check and I need to--"
He did his disarming grin and eye roll thing, then repeated, "What do you need? What can I do to make your life easier?"
I just kind of blinked at him, I was so startled. The idea of asking for help is not a habit I'm accustomed to. And then I asked for a hug and his help moving boxes out of the closet.
Sometimes I wish he could be my real boyfriend, but I'm pretty sure it would be significantly less awesome if we were involved for reals.
New stress: this weekend I am babysitting the seminar center I used to work at -- checking people in, serving breakfast, doing laundry, making sure the place doesn't burn down, etc., while all the current staff go to a wedding in Ohio. I got an email from my co-babysitter:
Second, I have a request. Greg arranged for you to speak on Sat and me on
Sunday, and I wondered if you would be willing to switch nights, so I
could speak on Saturday. I have a friend coming into town [...]
Greg WHAT?! Arrrgh!!! I soooo did not sign up for this crap. Nobody said anything about public speaking, and Greg sure as hell didn't even tell me what I'm supposed to be speaking about, or to whom!
