Barely three weeks into my new job and already I'm taking a sick day. I still feel obscurely guilty, but I really am sick, and I really do feel icky enough to warrant taking the day off. And it's really, really awesome that I have a job where I can actually take a sick day at all. Have I mentioned lately how much I love this job? They don't let me work more than forty hours a week! I don't know what to do with the free time; I still have this feeling that I should be working on lesson plans. :)

Y'know, I don't think I ever said on LJ, did I? I'm an intern at William Penn House in Washington, DC, which is a Quaker center and hostel.

There's the hostel part, which is mostly boring, but we also organize service projects for church groups, and do seminars and stuff, which is fascinating. In October we're having a seminar for teachers on how to integrate teaching peace into a curriculum, beyond just peer mediation.
