Mar. 7th, 2005 05:58 pmAuthors who I've read 10 or more books by:
Babysitter's Club--Ann M Martin. My only excuse is that I got rid of all of them in sixth grade.
Madeleine L'Engle. Unfortunately I don't remember much about them, it's been so long.
Robert Heinlein. I've read everything by him except Tramp Royale, For Us, the Living, and his nonfiction. I was obsessed. I can't read For Us, the Living cause it's the last nonfiction, and then it would be over.
Lemony Snicket. Rocks my socks.
L.M. Montgomery. All eight Anne books, the Emily books, and a zillion others.
Almost C.S. Forester. I haven't yet read the tenth Hornblower book, and I'm not altogether sure I want to as, of course, this would mean it was all over, and I can't abide the thought.
Tamora Pierce. Everything she's ever published, including short stories. Best author ever.
Judy Blume. A staple of American childhood, not that I was ever much into her kids' stories. But her adult novels are good.
Marion Chesney. *hangs head* I know, I know. But it's my mind candy! I need my mind candy.
M.C. Beaton. Which is Marion Chesney when she's writing mysteries. More mind candy.
Astrid Lindgren--I think. I don't know how many of her's I've read.
Roald Dahl. I need to reread him. He rocks like a rocky thing.
Ah! Boxcar Children. Gertrude Wilder, or something.
Twain? Maybe I haven't gotten to ten yet with him. But definitely a goal. Same for Dickens. And Steinbeck.
*ducks* I've read more than ten Star Wars novels. And I make all the proper apologies.
Oh yeah! Beverly Cleary. Yup!
Does one count individual Sherlock Holmes stories?
Hmm. This is harder than I thought, given how obsessive I can get about certain authors.
LATER: The McGurk mysteries! There were, like, twenty of them. Children's books, they were. Hey, I was what, twelve?
And how could I forget L. Frank Baum? All fourteen Oz books.
Eh, I suppose that's not bad. I just thought there'd be more.
LATER #2: Duh! Orson Scott Card!
And Laura Ingalls Wilder! How can I forget these?
And those American Girl series, but I don't think they count.
ETA 3: Anyone remember Encyclopedia Brown? I'm sure I read at least ten of those.

Date: 2005-03-08 01:40 pm (UTC)To me, the fanfiction in this fandom mostly consists of Watson realizing that Holmes is quietly pining away for him, which cracks me up since it's so not in character for Holmes. But I haven't read extensively in the fandom, I'll freely admit. And not that I don't like Holmes/Watson. It's just not particularly done well as far as I've discovered.
