zana16Sooooo... It appears that I haven't updated for a whole three days. Except political stuff, comix and the like. However, I have generated muchly the invite codes and set up an account for ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
pashabird, and the "flies", and others. Still have many invite codes left, am willing to give them to just about anyone who wants them.... Friends of friends, etc.
So. Today is May Day, a national holiday here. Everyone offers everyone else sprigs of these white bell flowers that smell really really good. Yesterday at work they had a going-away lunch thing for us interns, which I didn't know was for me too since I'm not leaving for another few weeks. Had to give a thank-you speech, in French, on the spot. Then went to Les Halles to buy a phonecard and a copy of La Reine Margot. I was wearing my beautiful blue skirt and carrying my Nifty New Briefcase (gift from the Socialist Party of France--go me!) and feeling rather distinguished. This drageur approached me and said Vous êtes une très belle Parisienne. He was rather astonished when, instead of ignoring him as most women would, I instead burst out laughing. Yes! I am finally being mistaken for being French!
In other news, Newsweek has begun to impress me cause they're finally printing real news again. This week's editional (the international one, anyways) had real thought behind some of the articles. Amazing. Especially appreciated was a State Department official's response to the latest idiotic plan regarding North Korea put forth by Rummy's Pentagon: "What are they smoking? Which alternative universe do they inhabit? This is total fantasy."
Having Sallybird here was good. She's one of the few people I can talk to about my fanfiction obsessive tendencies. Have realized that the 5th Harry Potter will not be as good as
