I BE A GEEK
Mar. 28th, 2003 07:11 pm"Euclid's Window": fascinating reading.
My day:
As I walk through the Luxembourg and Observatoire Gardens, I ponder whether small children playing foot equals happiness equals the meaning of life. Wonder if discovering the meaning of life would rend me happy: have my doubts. Ponder the definition of happiness. Realize I have no clear definition of happiness. Decide I am a dork and move on.
Froze in the crypt at the Pantheon because I am a history nerd and was determined to read all the inscriptions. Now want to know where Descartes is buried. Know skull is in Musee de l'Homme, but why aren't his bones in the Pantheon? This matters to me for some obscure reason that even I do not fully comprehend. Ponder the nature of matter and its effect on the universe and move on.
Have looked it up and discovered that Descartes rests at St. Germain-des-Pres. Am greatly bothered by this. As planning on becoming a French citizen and having ashes interred at the civic temple of France's great personnages, I want Descartes there too, dammit. They've already got my favorite French authors: Zola, Hugo, and the all-mighty Dumas (god I love him). Want to be interred in same chapel as them. Doubt this will happen as 1) am too lazy to go about finding a Frenchman to marry so I can get French citizenship and 2) I plan to write my great works in English, or at least mostly.
Laugh at myself and move on.
