Aug. 9th, 2005 02:41 pmIn some ways this hasn't been a great day so far, in terms of 1) getting another parking ticket--yes, my pass is expired, but why does the DC police have time to check that? and 2) a tire is punctured, and while my tires are still under warranty, I bought them in TX and am now in DC and more than 100 miles from the nearest store that would replace it.
But I didn't have to change my tire in the rain, and the mechanic who did it for me didn't charge me, and I'm going to a concert tonight--I'm gonna risk driving with the little doughnut tire, cause I don't want to miss this concert. Great Big Sea is wonderful Celtic-style music from Newfoundland. I saw them back in Northampton, they were awesome: the only Celtic music I've ever heard that still has a mosh pit. The concert tonight has assigned seating, worse luck, but I still intend to have a great deal of fun which I'm sure I will be paying for when I have to start work tomorrow at seven AM.
