Not as much a comment as failed attempt at posting in my own journal. Can't seem to get the password right. Dunno. Anyway: Went to the dentist I got referred to this morning, crowns are going to cost me a grand total of $2,287. Got a six-month loan, but that's still just short of $400 per month...more than I'd be paying for rent if I moved out. Have about $1,500 saved up, but I've also got a student loan for $3,000 plus interest, and $500-$600 of credit card debt that isn't collecting interest until May. Aaron's dad still hasn't paid me back for my shipping costs like he promised, hence the credit card debt. He now thinks that because he's already paid $500 to help me move, that should have covered it and anything else is just me being greedy. Seeing the schedule for moving that he gave me, the $500 was just the plane ticket. Then once I got the airport I got charged $130 in excess baggage fees. The box for my bicycle was $35 at the shop, then a bit more for labor for taking it apart and putting it in the box, and about $50 to UPS for actually mailing it...so close to $100 for the bike. And then all of the stuff that went USPS...over another hundred. Up to $330 here, before we get into any damages. Like my two favorite pairs of dress shoes that got totally ruined, and another pair that got scuffed badly so just aren't as nice anymore. And teflon that got scratched. And ornaments and a couple candles that got broken. And books that had their covers taken from nearly-new to abused. Would be taking up some of the damages with USPS, had I not literally ran out of money when I was mailing things and been able to afford insurance on it. Have been bugging Aaron to get money from his dad since I started mailing things. This is the first I heard of why I have only gotten $30 so far, and it was from Aaron and not his dad. Guess it's a good thing that I got a reason though, because the money issue has become one of our most frequent topics of conversation, and while we've both been pretty calm, it's not helping our already strained relationship. Now I know that it's a problem Aaron won't get very far with, so I'm going to drop the issue with him. I want to talk to his step-mom, explain the situation, give her the numbers, hope she can talk some sense into his dad. I left Aaron a message on IM saying that, and that if he doesn't want me to talk to Nina he needs to tell me. Cross your fingers and hope this all goes well.
