Decided there was no way in hell I could watch the State of the Union address without alcohol, and even at only a sip per blatant lie, I would still be hospitalized within twenty minutes. Decided not to aggravate my idealism or my alcohol tolerance, and instead watched reeeeeeeally bad TNG with the Beth and then went to Springfield with the Hannah to pick up the Kate, whose train was nine hours late. We discussed the "educational porn" film we want to make, after watching all these god-awful porn films that we figure some of the male persuasion might actually take as sex ed (donchanknow, the New Feminism doesn't look at porn as objectifying women, but as miseducating men--either way, we still blame the male species, but this is a kinder, gentler, "it's not your fault you're an asshole" sort of feminism*). Also, we almost managed to get ourselves killed--someone really has to teach me to drive standard, so I will not have to trust my life to drivers who don't notice they don't have their lights on until we get almost hit by a bus. Springfield is a depressing, depressing town with the dregs of humanity and capitalism. It is the Mos Eisley (d00d, I dunno how it's spelled, I'm not that much of a geek) of Earth.

*Please note, none of these views at all reflect my own view of feminism. We're way beyond 2nd wave feminism, and only if we define 3rd wave feminism as "believing whatever the crap anyone particularly wants to believe is feminism" can we make any term all-embracing these days.
