zana16Ooooh. First day of "classes". 'Twas much fun. Am taking the paranormal activity class, which rocks. One of the guys teaching it could move matchsticks with his mind! Then they did a group reading of us, and I guess my mind was open because they got a lot of stuff. Starting with Bambi, then the tall guy said, "Does Rim Rock mean anything to you?" (My neighborhood is named Rim Rock), then "How about June 20th?" (parents' anniversary). Later Robin asked "Anybody related to a Dmitri?" After the class he came up to me and asked if he could ask a rather upsetting question, asked if my mother were dead. It would be eery if I hadn't already seen that they were what Heinlein refers to as "cat people".
They're all scientists, too, so they're teaching us the theory behind it all, from a scientific perspective, and also how to tell the fakes from the real thing.

Aaron's letting his parents have this power over him and over you. I know it makes it even more painful, but if he's not willing to stand up for you now he may not ever be able to. They're trying to make it too difficult for you to be with him, so that you'll give up, and he's not making any steps toward making it any easier. I so want to be there to hug you, and I so want to kick his face in for not being willing to rock the boat. Are you going to be able to trust him after this? Would a marriage several years down the line be feasible now, in terms of your own feelings? Nobody wants him to choose between you and his parents (except his parents), but he may just have to. He'd better be pretty fucking wonderful if he's worth the pain he's putting you through.
