I don't mind letting the prof down--Marjorie will get over it. It's letting Mandy down that's the hard part. Mandy, always the Good Child. Always the responsible one. Mandy continues to amaze me. Sally and I can be the flakes, I can be just another grubby kid, not quite as stable as she should be and refusing to act as responsibly as she is able, and it's okay cause Sally's parents have their Good Child so the two of us can fuck up. It's nice. I like having adopted parents, cause you know they actually like you for you, no matter how grubby or flaky you may be. :)
