Oct. 6th, 2003 09:37 pmToday is Come and Take It Day. Seriously. Who makes up these holidays?
You know that T-shirt that says "I'll sleep when I'm dead"? I always found those amusing. Over the past week or so, however, I have felt more and more like this was becoming truth, and it is not a reality I like. *cannot sleep through exam tomorrow* Emily, love, would you call me tomorrow about half an hour before class to make sure I'm awake?
Had a job interview today. Actually wore a nice coat. Yes, I hear the gasps of astonishment. It was with the AFL-CIO, and pay is decent and of course there's great benefits, but I blanched about the time he said "sometimes up to 12 hours a day". Still, it'll work as a back-up option.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand:
The RPSers whose fondest dream it is that they are supporting Dom and Elijah (Frodo and Merry, if you're not LoTrips fangirl) in their super-sekkrit lurve, are outraged that the two of them laughed about people thinking they're gay. They so should have gone ahead with the holding hands to fuck with the fangirls' heads. This is all strangely reminiscent of highschool, not least because when Laura and I held hands that must automatically mean we're lesbians, right? Mind you, this was back when I was straight and not even to the questioning mode yet. I remember hearing in the bathroom that someone caught us kissing in the halls. Interesting, since I have no memories of this, and had I been gay I never would have come out in south Texas. I mean, really, support the queer community in all their incarnations, and if you're one of them (which I suppose I am, now--at least sometimes) that's great, but really, it's not a crime to be straight. *rolls eyes at the entire LoTrips fandom* I am so glad I never got into LoTrips.
