zana16I'm back at Smith. I know nobody in Talbot. *sniff* I did find my TV, though, which I totally didn't expect to. Sheets are another matter. And anything else I actually need.
The flight was long and stressful. I held Sylvia Planth on my lap the whole time and there was no room to even shift my legs. Curse the genes that made me tall.
Four frat-guy types got on the plane and were doing annoying things like back-and-forth chanting and I kept thinking, It's six o'clock in the f*ing morning, you should be hung over, shut the f* up. Then when I was struggling with my bags at the baggage claim, two of them offered to carry them for me down to the shuttle. Which was probably a lesson to me not to judge fratboys.
Kami is here, so at least there's one person I recognize. She came over and watched anime on my TV while I unpacked, and we snickered at the lameness of the show.
My room is sweet! Now I just have to find my stuff. And find the people who have my guitar/computer/rice cooker/boom box/sentient bottle of soy sauce and get them back. But today I am going to go through that damn attic and find my stuff. Attics are evil and hot. I just escaped one and here I go with another. The attic, unlike the trunkroom, hasn't been cleaned out probably since 1953. I finally found the hidden pile of stuff that Sarah and Suzanne left for me, along with a bunch of Suzanne's stuff that she apparently forgot. I've requisitioned some of it and should see if she wants the personal stuff. I put up my Christmas lights and that was good. Now just need basics (like the sheets). I gave up on sleeping on a towel last night--mattress is plastic and sticky in this heat--and ended up sleeping on my couch, which is about half the length of my body. Am sore.
Firstyears are cute and have lots of questions. And I could have gotten paid for answering them, but instead I'm not an HCA and do it for free. Oh well. Gave me something to do instead of lugging things down from the attic.

I'm glad you found your TV! I tried to leave it someplace easy. I'm going to requisition a friend's car and move the most of my stuff that's in the trunk room on Wenesday, assuming I get there before it's completely trashed. I also have to haul my fridge down from the attic, which I will do immediatly or it will never get done. My room is a tiny box, which I'm not sure I actually like. Maybe I'll move at winter break.
