Hi -- just wanted to say that my dad needed a similarly expensive wheelchair, and the insurance wouldn't pay for even that much of it. However, we found a great lightly used one on Craigslist for $4000, which was a lot easier for friends and family to come up with. I know you have to get lucky, but definitely check out Craigslist.
