“Why did Melissa’s arrival scare you?” the therapist asked patiently.
Darcy slumped back in her chair, tired. “I told you, I don’t know,” she mumbled.
“You’re avoiding knowing,” said the therapist.
“Yes, I am, and you’re not being very good about letting me avoid it.”
“I’m not paid to let you avoid it.”
“People must really be masochists to pay for this sort of torture,” Darcy moaned.
Am avoiding the whole SuperBowl thing.
