I have a theory.... if we set off the fire alarm several times trying to cook on the hotplate or over candles in our rooms, they will eventually open the diningroom door for us. Of course, we could always call Phys Plant and ask them to, but why be logical?
Am still sick. Is icky. Sweated through my pajamas, sheets, and blankets last night, decided I probably couldn't sweat through the carpet so ended up there. Sleeping on a carpet is rather uncomfortable. Am considering going to Health Services since in my less lucid moments I was convinced I have (a) SARS or (b) bubonic plague. Since I have no symptoms of either, this attests to my mental unhinging. But really, my stomache has never roiled before.
Am caught up on all my webcomics and F_W. Still have to catch up on the WIP fanfics I read and all of your lovely ljs. Also, read The Left Hand of Darkness (on tape) before Forbes Library decides that I am a lost cause--I've had it out for several months, and am maybe a tenth of a way into it, but I have to beg them to let me renew it each time. When one has put this many pleading looks and "Just this once?" looks of faux innocence into something, one really should actually get to the end of it.
Am intrigued by the new version of Peter Pan. I snorted when the previews said that it was faithful to the original version--I couldn't believe they'd put a bunch of racist, sexist, and disturbingly Freudian tension into a kids' movie--but I'm told some of it is actually true to Barrie's warped mind, including the disturbing Wendy-Mr Darling dynamic. May have to actually go see it just to see how they pull it off without kids picking up on it.
