Dec. 20th, 2003 08:11 pmWell, I be home. Or, what used to be home. It's home-y, anyways, and that's what counts.
Got my brother to use a few adjectives. Go me!
Stayed up all last night in the lounge of a Sheraton Hotel, reading Freedom and Neccessity. I hate flying, and the 11-hour wait was the best part of the whole experience.
I am back, all the Black-family brothers and sisters (my stepmother's siblings) are here, we have a new dog, the house smells of burnt paper (I'm told they haven't gotten the fireplace working just right yet), and I have already had a mighty battle with spiderwebs and Daddy Longlegses. In other news, the hot water tank no longer is a swamp (I wonder where the frogs went?) so it does not smell of sulfur every time I take a shower, but since it's rainwater-collection, it does smell like oakleaf tea. Ah, well, I am an Entwife. One would think I'd enjoy such things.
Tomorrow am baking bread. Rather excited about it. Grandparents are on some weird diet (though at least this one isn't dangerous) so they won't be able to eat it, but the rest of us will. Becky has been going to incredible lengths to come up with interesting recipes. Apparently the spinich mint soy icecream didn't turn out so well. Have resigned myself to many salads and look forward to all the green vegetables--Smith just doesn't do any green vegetable except stringbeans very well.
Ah, yes. Dial-up. It suxx0r!!
Had a very odd dream during my nap that was a crossover of the HP-verse and the Tolkien-verse. Please don't crucify me. I can't control my subconscious!
