Look Ma, no surgery!
Apr. 25th, 2010 09:53 amSomeone, I think perhaps
neotoma, told me a bit ago that it was absolute madness to wear $3 bras from the the thrift store, and to get myself hence to Nordstrom's to get fitted properly. When I acquired the new job in January, I upgraded to $10 bras from Target, but they weren't much better. So at long last, yesterday I braved the Columbia mall before going to bridge at
bkleber's. I walked in a 38C, and walked out a 36DD. I find it insanely amusing that my boobs grew several sizes with no input on my part.
I did not, however, acquire any bras there, because if I'm going to spend $80 on a bra, it had damn well better look awesome and make me feel fabulous, and possibly also be able to whip up a souffle on the side. Also, at that point I had been in the mall for more than three hours (my tops for shopping is usually an hour, give or take fifteen minutes), and I was getting distinctly twitchy.
Bridge was fun. Last time,
ambyr and I didn't get any winning hands, but this time we got only winning hands. I even pulled off a grand slam despite having opened bidding without opening points! Our long-suffering opponents were more patient than I would have been.
I was going to go to Quaker Meeting this morning, but given that it started five minutes ago and I'm half an hour away, I think that's not happening. I am going to put more green things in the ground today, though -- unless it rains, in which case all bets are off, cause no I am not that hardcore.
I also stopped by the library to pay fines and see if they had Ash by Malinda Lo, which we're reading for queer-scifi-fantasy bookclub this month. Prince Georges has one copy in the entire system, and there were 8 holds on it. In Columbia, I stopped by the library to pay more fines (yes, it is a problem) and they had eight copies in the system. Almost all of them were checked out, but I got the last one. \0/
