Sep. 16th, 2003 04:22 pmHad a breakdown after Self Defense yesterday. Beth came to rescue me and cradle me and just generally be a warm soft comforting entity and tell me that she loves me, which was conforting and I didn't cry all night. I had been panicking in the shower while trying to scrub the traces of psychological scars off of my body, so when I couldn't stop crying I called her and took her away from Emily who was also apparently panicking but about something very different.
Am trying to not have nightmares about the traumatic image. I've discovered one the real-life applications of Harry Potter: the Ridikulus counterspell really works. So I'm working on making the image into something absolutely bizarre and hilarious. The flesh-eating worms this morning performed a ballet to the classical music I woke up to, then mentally smashed each one into a bloody splat on the wall with my shoe. I still haven't conquered the image, but at least I'm walking around amused by the storyline playing in my head.
In History of Math today we got to handle these ancient cuneiform tablets and papyrus scrolls, and medieval parchments. I am such a geek. Once in the Louvre I found Hammurabi's Code and since there was no one in the room I touched it. Other people like movies. I like ancient artifacts. Although I do have Errol Flynn's Robin Hood checked out and it's my reward for reading the 200 pages of Marx and finishing the paper on it.
