While I'm ranting, if I never have to have another round of the "Are Quakers Christian?" discussion, I will die a happy woman.

THIS QUESTION DOES NOT HAVE A YES OR NO ANSWER. SO STOP EXPECTING ONE.

Fair. I actually meant *inside* Quakerism, we seem to have this discussion nonstop, and it gets so old, so very quickly.

Wait, Quakers have this discussion all the time? That just boggles my mind.

It's the product of a split within Quakerism that didn't actually result in a schism. There's also a regional and a generational divide. We're pretty much a religion of introverts, so there's a lot of navel-gazing going on that contributes to the problem.

Huh. My Meeting seemed to have a general consensus of both as far as I could tell. Then again, I tended to avoid the second hour discussions where they probably had those discussions. I mostly get that question from people once we get past the fact that Quakers aren't extinct and are different from the guy on the oatmeal box.
